American Airlines to Waive Fee on Third Bag for Military

American Airlines, which has been dealing with a false rumor today regarding their airline charging military members a bag fee when traveling on orders, stepped up their support for their military customers by additionally waiving their third bag.

Fees for first and second checked bags have always been waived for active service members, American said.

Previously, military personnel had to pay the $100 fee for the third checked bag, and then fill out a form to be reimbursed.

The new waiver policy begins immediately.

Recently, airlines have been raising fares and imposing new and higher fees for checking luggage to offset soaring fuel costs.
